A poem for Lisa

A memory from my 2015 trip to Ireland with my sister Lisa.

 Lisa

I wake to find you gone

In Connemara

Running ahead of me in time

Slipped away to climb

Diamond Hill in the distance

A wooden path twists

Through the rumpled blanket bog

Will I meet you on your return

Or will I lose you

To the lifting swell of fog

Woven into the lush morning tapestry

Someday I'll hike out to find you

On the green and violet loom

But for now I am the thrum

An errant thread

Reaching up to join the perfect

Fabric of your journey
